ABOUT ME

I've been avoiding this section for a while because I just have no idea how to write this. So instead of giving you a big long bio, I decided instead to give you a list of 10 facts about me.

1. I am a 30-something mother of two little boys. Mike and I technically not married, but we fully plan to get married one day. I'm just not sure when that day is going to be.

2. I wasn't born in Florida, but I've lived in central Florida since I was 5. So, albeit begrudgingly, I consider myself a native Floridian. (Strangely enough Mike has a similar tale of moving to Florida at a young age.)

3. I was actually born in New York. So when it came time for college, I "ran away" to Syracuse University. I actually really enjoyed living in the North. I know its cold and its definitely was rough walking back and forth to class every day, but its also the prettiest time of year. Florida has nothing on it.

4. I actually went to Syracuse with the intention of majoring in Biology and then moving onto med school. However, by the time I graduated college, I was no longer in love with Biology. So even thinking about a career in anything bio related was out of the question. Luckily I had a job at Disney, so I easily moved right back to Orlando.

5. I would love to talk about my job at Disney, but it was rather boring and Disney might kill me!

6.  Anyway I only lasted at Disney for about two years before I moved on to the restaurant world. I started out as a host and then moved on to a food runner/expo. This is actually where Mike and I met. A couple months after I started working, he got hired as a server.

7. We actually worked together for 8 months before, with the help of our bartender, he finally realized I was single and asked me out. Since we were both working two jobs at the time, it took a little juggling of our schedules to actually have our first date. We made it work and eventually I'll write all about it.

8. After that our relationship moved quickly. Within 5 months of dating, I ended up pregnant. And while it was a huge test on a new relationship, we welcomed Blue about a month before our one year anniversary. And a little over two years later we welcomed Lion.

9. With my household  set, I decided it was time to start working on my career. The funny thing was that after all this time, I really think I would have enjoyed working in a bio lab. But then I look at Mike and our boys and I can't imagine life without them. So I turned to my other love crafting! I've always been a crafty person, so I thought I would start a crating blog. However I quickly learned that I really have no idea what I'm really doing. So doing a crafting blog was silly. Instead I realized I could combine my love of experimenting and of crafting to create a blog about trying different project ideas and to see if they really work. This is how I started Jenn Tries..

10. All right I thought I would end with a fun fact about me. I actually hate finishing things, projects, post and mostly sandwiches... its a terrible habit, but I'm working to change it. (Just maybe not the sandwich part)

Success! Message received.
