O is for Octopus
So this week I realized why I can never finish my activity book pages in time. I've been in such a rush to finish the book, that I've been trying to create two pages a week. And I just can't keep up with that on top of my current workload. So instead I've decided to get back to the old schedule and just work one page every two weeks. And in between new pages continue to rework the old pages.
So with that being said. I present the newest page to the activity book!

Here's How You Make It
Step 1 Creating the Octopus
So if you click on the inspiration page listed it has a complete pattern to copy from. However the octopus didn't fit my page, so I did a quick search on Pinterest for Octopus Coloring Pages and I found the perfect octopus for my page.

So I used that octopus as my pattern and cut out a pink Octopus for my page. To fit it on the page I had to turn it sideways. Here's what it looked like...
after I sewed down on a couple of buttons on!
Step 2 putting on the buttons
The next step is to sew down buttons down each arm. I decided to make my buttons go in a rainbow pattern.
I tried to find all the fun buttons to sew down on the arms. And since I just learned that octopuses have three hearts, I found three heart shape buttons to include. (Just a little Easter Egg, for my book!)
Once I had all the buttons in place, I sew down a number in the same color as the buttons it corresponds to!
Step 3 finishing touches
To finish my Octopus, I decided to give it some eyes using some spare white felt and small black buttons. I finished the octopus I back stitched on a smile.
And to finish the page, I cut an 'O' out of scrap felt and sewed it onto the bottom left corner. I also back stitched next to it 'is for Octopus'.
