DIY Charging Pocket
Happy Throwback Thursday! (even though I'm posting this on a Sunday!)
For my first throwback of the year I wanted to keep it simple and update one of my projects. (And perhaps one I use the most!). I'm talking about my charging pocket!
So last time I posted about my charging pocket it looked like this
This actually worked fine as a charging pocket and I was happy with the results of it. If you'll recall, I left it unpainted because I couldn't decided on a color scheme for my bathroom.

The Results
Well not only have I picked a color scheme for the bathroom (and a color for my charging pocket), but I also changed the outlet from a standard two plug outlet into a two plug with two USB outlet.
So the first thing I did was adjust the length of my plug hole. This way the top of the pocket could hang over Mike's nightlight and I would still be able to use the USB outlets.
(I hope this makes sense! I elongated the plug hole so that the the bottom of the hole was equal to the top of the charging pocket out front) After I cut out my new hole, I gave it a thorough wipe down with rubbing alcohol to get rid of an dirt. (Rubbing alcohol works best because it cleans effectively and dries quickly. You could also use soap and water and wipe it dry if you want!)
Once that was complete, it was time to paint! So I used painters tape to mark off where I wanted the white stripes to be.
And then I used berry pink spray paint on the charging pocket. And before I pulled the tape off it looked like I painted it with Pepto Bismol. So I was beyond thankful when I pulled the tape of and it didn't look like that anymore.
After paint all that was left to do was to look at it in the space. And I love the strips. It reminds me of a beach towel! This will tie in nicely once I start decorating the rest of my bathroom!
And here's how it looks in action:
It really is the perfect update to fully finish this project
