Crocheting A Messy Bun Beanie
We're finally at the point in my winter crochet series, where I get to share the hat I crocheted for myself. After creating the last two hats for my boys, I knew I wanted something that would look it belonged with theirs, but also something that was feminine at the same time. (Just because I live with boys doesn't mean I want to look like one of them!) I searched a little over Pinterest for a a hat I liked before I searched through my own crochet board when I stumbled upon this little gem.
The Project
Crochet A Cabled Messy Bun Hat for Myself
Pattern from CDM Handmade
Supplies Needed:
1 Skein Worsted Weight Yarn (I decided to create an ombre effect using 3 skeins of Vannas Choice in Denim Mist, Pink, and Periwinkle)
Results
I was always intrigued by this pattern whenever I would see it on Pinterest and I'm really glad I decided to make it after Lyon's hat last week. I'm not sure I would have understood how to do the cables right if I didn't.
What I really love is that it works up so fast.
Before I knew it I had finished the main part of the hat and I just needed to make the bow. I decided to keep my bow pink because I really love the pink color.
Here is how my hat turned out:
(I'll get a better picture once I take one)
