Monday Free Write

Happy Monday All!

For this Monday, I just feel inspired to write about Mondays because well every Monday I scroll through my instagram feed and its filled with a whole lot of hate for Mondays. I get it. I really do, its the first day after the weekend and you're back to the grind again. Mondays can be a bit of a downer... I guess... My Mondays are technically Tuesdays, but I never feel like its the worst day of the week. Its just another start to another work week. Other than that, there's nothing too terrible about it for me.

So I guess that being said my Mondays are treated a little differently than most. Mondays may not be the start of my work week, but I still like to treat them like the start of my week. So as of now I like to get my laundry done (completely) on Mondays. (All right maybe put it away on Tuesday if I have too). I also try to catch up on dishes I may have skip over on Saturday or Sunday. And lately I'm trying to add more and more weekly cleaning chores onto Monday (because it seems that's when I have the most time to take care of them and I also get the rest of the day to enjoy my time off.) Somehow I think this little bit of routine helps keep my week off to a great (and clean!) start.

Monday is also more than the day where I catch up on things. Mike and I don't see each other much over the weekend. (A quick pass of the kids on Saturday and most Sundays he works doubles. So Mondays always feel like heaven again and we're finally a family again! (Even if its just for the morning, its still so nice to have him around.)

Overall though I really enjoy that on Mondays, I get the chance to come here and write about whatever's been going on in my head over the past week or so. There is something so freeing about knowing I can do that. All right its a little nerve wracking that my opinion won't be shared or won't be liked. But I just breathe and make sure that I write for me and write my truth and try to stay away from controversial topics. I mean this is a DIY/ lifestyle blog. I don't really need to talk about news and give my opinion on that. If you want to know you can ask and I'll be sure to tell. That little tangent reminds me why I love the free writes so much; because they are free writes. For the most part I just write. (And rewrite and rewrite until I finally like what's being said). And there's something so freeing about that.

And that is perhaps why I love Mondays so much. And why you should overhaul your thinking and start like Mondays as well. (After all there's around 52 Mondays in a year. That's an awfully large amount of time wasting being unhappy!)
