Monday Free Write

Happy Monday All!

(Or perhaps, Happy Tuesday since this is coming out a day late!)

And this week is a very special week! Over the weekend my Alma Mater Syracuse beat #2 Clemson in football! It was completely unexpected and thrilling all the same! The best part is that I just put up a Syracuse Alumni sticker on my car.

So between sticking the decal on my car and that the game was on Friday the 13th, it has me feeling very superstitious. So I decided to write about my superstitions.

I don't have a lot of superstitions in my every day life. I, mean, I'm a little weary on Friday the 13th. I'm always waiting for something bad to happen and I'm never surprised when it does. I am however very superstitious when it comes to my sports teams.

I often try to do the same thing every game day win or lose. I where the same clothes, same shirt, same sports bra and same shorts/pants. And now that I have kids, I make sure they are at least wearing their game day shirts. Now that they are getting older its a little harder to get them into the right shirt, but I do best.

I also make sure I drink out of the same coffee mug every game day.

And while I know that none of this really matters in the long run. The game is going to happen how its supposed to happen. I like that these little things give me a little piece of mind while I'm waiting for the game or watching the game. And that's why I do it and that's why I'll continue to do it.
