So about this time last year, I made this lion page for the activity book.

It was a fun lion page, but I wasn't really happy that there wasn't any activity to the page. (Other than just being a fun page to pet!). And after looking at different activity book pages on Pinterest, I found a much better idea for the page.

Basic Sewing Supplies
Here's How You Make It
Step 1: Starting the Lion
The first step in changing my lion page, was finding a different lion templet. With a little searching, I found this lion puppet templet.

Pattern from Mama Mirabelle
I cut out each piece along the dotted lion. (I tried just using the pieces, but the pieces ended up to too small for my snaps.)
I cut out two felt sets out each lion piece. One in a light brown and one in gold. To make my lion come to life, I cut out the mane, ears, nose and belly spot and glued the pieces to the corresponding

I then pressed all the pieces between two books to dry.
Step 2: Finishing the Lion
While the other pieces were drying I attached the male snaps onto the brown lion pieces. And then I stitch on the corresponding gold piece to each brown piece.

Once the belly was dry I added on the female snaps along the outside. I started with the head and then added the arms, to make sure that there was enough room for both the head and arms.

Once the head was dry, I added some some brown button eyes. Next I stitched it to the brown head piece and added a little bit of stuffing to fluff it up a bit.
Step 3 Putting it All Together
To finish the page, I sewed the belly piece to the about the middle of the page.

And because I love reusing parts from the old pages, I stuffed the belly with some of the cotton balls, I originally used to the stuff the lion head in the previous version.

I also stitched on the 'L' from the previous version and used orange embroidery floss to back stitch on 'is for Lion' like in the previous version.
