Fizzy Toilet Bombs
I know I said I wasn't going to post on Tuesdays anymore, but i quickly realized that was a silly idea. I still have plenty of cleaning ideas I want to test out and even more that I need to write up about. And today I have the perfect cleaning tip that I've been meaning to post about. So I thought I would start with the post I've been meaning to post for a while now.
About two months ago, I discovered a recipe to making fizzy toilet bombs. And since my toilet is often overlooked, I thought this would be the perfect solution to actually make me clean it.

So the first time I attempted to make the fizzy toilet bombs, I didn't have any essential oils. So I tried to use lemon juice instead. And needless to say they did not turn out quite right. So I decided to try them again. This time I had essential oils and I decided to use sweet orange in my toilet bombs. (Next time I think I'm going to lemon oil and the sweet orange oil!)
The difference between my two batches was not just how well they worked, but also how turned out. The first batch kept the shape of the tablespoon completely. This second batch puffed up on me.
It actually reminded me of how cookies spread when they bake.
Anyway I let them dry overnight and then I, because they were so wide, I used an empty ice cream container to store them in.
All right making the fizzy toilet bombs was no problem. Seeing if they would actually clean my toilet is another thing.
So I thought the best way would be to show you how my toilet looked before
Its not great I know (and no amount of toilet bombs can touch the bottom. I had a couple of other rough spots that I used a steel scrub on and I ended up taking off some of the porcelain. This explains the gray spots around the bowl.)
Bombs away!
Almost instantly, the bomb started fizzing and breaking apart. And like Jillee recommends, I left it to fizz.
Once it was done fizzing, I got out my toilet brush and gave the toilet a good scrub. And needless to say cleaned my toilet. (I more scrubbing then I would have liked, but I think that's because I picked the worst toilet brush.(
Anyway here's how my toilet looked after the fizzy toilet bomb:
So I would say the fizzy toilet bombs definitely work. (And that I definitely need a new toilet brush). And here's hoping that maybe, enough of them will help clear off the bottom of my toilet!
