I could write a post on how much I love my new blender (and probably a longer post on how much I hated my old one!). It so wonderful and my bulletproof coffee tastes so much better blended in it. Overall I'm really happy I decided to get my new blender.

The downside of upgrading to a regular blender is that its a lot harder to clean. (And the fact that my little bullet blender had two cups, so I didn't have to wash it everyday... if I didn't want to.) It can be quite the hassle to clean it everyday. (Needless to say, I'm not a neat freak! But I am learning to be a whole lot cleaner as I go!) So when I heard about a simple and easy way to clean my blender. I knew I had to try it! (And make sure that it actually worked so you could do it too... of course...)

Use Your Blender To Clean Itself

Here is my blender after my morning coffee

As you can see its dirty, with most of the grime settled down near the blades. (I find this to be the hardest part to work a sponge into)

So believe me, I was thrilled to find this tip. All it takes is to fill the blender about half way up with warm water (I just used the hot side from the kitchen sink) and a drop or squirt of dish soap.

Here's how my blender looked with the water and the soap

As you can see the water is slightly dirty from the coffee, coconut oil, butter and pumpkin pie spice sediment left behind.

Next step is to just turn it on. I played with the settings on my blender at this point. The fastest worked well at frothing up the soap.

But my favorite setting to clean with is the ice one. It spins and pulses, so the soap froths up nicely and the pulses send it to the top so the lid gets slightly clean as well.

And then I give it a quick rinse and let it air dry.

And Voila! My blender is ready for my next batch of bulletproof coffee!
